Students from the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom underwent training course on the VR-1 reactor. The course was focused on neutron detection and reactor physics.

Slovakian nuclear power plant Mochovce staff underwent periodic training on the reactor VR-1.

Training Course for the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

A special two-week course for students from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (USA) was held at the VR-1 reactor. Students underwent lectures and practical exercises focused on neutron detection, reactor physics, reactor operation and control, nuclear safety and radiation protection. Students also visited the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, National Radiation Protection Institute, ŠKODA Nuclear Machinery and fusion reactor Golem.
