The reactor is opened to public visitors of various nature. High-school and/or university students as well as members of the public, visit the reactor. Technical tours are additional activities and can be provided only unless the reactor is routinely operated or during an outage. The tour's programme is didactic; containing a lecture, a site visit and a reactor operation demonstration. Information on all important aspects of nuclear energy production and safe nuclear reactor operation is also provided. Technical tour visitors have provided always very positive feedback concerning the tours. A typical visit takes approximately two hours. Our staff will introduce you the basics of nuclear reactor technology and provide you with a tour on the facility.

Requirements

  • Before site visit, it is necessary to fill the List of Visitors.
  • The reactor is accessible to adults above 18 years only.
  • Visitors should always follow the staff instructions.
  • People under narcotic or habit-forming substances are immediately excluded from excursion.
  • Visitors will receive lab coats and overshoes in front of the entrance.
  • Eating, drinking or smoking in the controlled area is strictly forbidden.
  • Cell phones are not allowed to be used during the excursion.
  • Taking photos and videos at the facility may be available upon request.
  • Before the entrance, each visitor is checked for the ID card or passport. Visitors with valid ID card or passport are allowed to enter the facility.
  • Violation of any criterion above may lead to exclusion of the visitor or cancelation of the whole excursion.

Personal data protection

  • Czech Technical University in Prague as administrator and processor of personal data is entitled to require it from all persons entering the controlled and protected area of the VR-1 Training Reactor in order to meet the requirements of Act No. 263/2016 Coll. (Atomic Act) and implementing decrees of the State Office for Nuclear Safety
  • Personal data will be archived for 10 years
  • Personal data are protected by technical and organizational measures of the Czech Technical University in Prague in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation
